MOSCOW, April 4. /TASS/. President of the LVMH group of companies (Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy) Bernard Arnault topped the Forbes list of the richest people in the world in 2023. This is according to information published on the magazine’s website on Tuesday.
According to the publication, revenue, profit and shares of LVMH are at an all-time high. In the last 12 months, Arnault’s fortune has increased by $53 billion to $211 billion, which is the biggest gain among billionaires.
American entrepreneur Elon Musk, who heads Tesla and SpaceX and owns Twitter and who previously topped the list, dropped to second place. Compared to 2022, Musk’s net worth decreased by $39 billion, and his fortune is now estimated at $180 billion.
Founder of the American corporation Amazon Jeff Bezos ranks third with a fortune of $114 billion. Due to a 38% decline in Amazon’s shares, Bezos, who previously ranked second in the Forbes rating, lost about $57 billion and slipped to third place.
The top ten richest people on the planet also includes one of the founders and leaders of Oracle Corporation, American Larry Ellison ($107 billion), head of the investment fund of the American company Berkshire Hathaway Warren Buffett ($106 billion), founder of the American company Microsoft Bill Gates ($104 billion), American entrepreneur and politician Michael Bloomberg ($94.5 billion), Mexican entrepreneur Carlos Slim Helu ($93 billion), head of India’s Reliance Industries Mukesh Ambani ($83.4 billion) and former US Microsoft CEO Steven Ballmer ($80.7 billion).
The 25th and final position on the list was taken by one of the founders of Nike, Phil Knight. Zhang Yiming, founder of ByteDance and TikTok, was not included in the list, ranking only 26th.
