The Russian leader particularly highlighted the role of Sberbank in these operations

MOSCOW, March 7. /TASS/. Russia has managed to overcome in general difficulties and problems attempted to be created from the outside in different spheres, including finance, President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday at the meeting with Sberbank CEO Herman Gref.

"I would like to highlight, and I am pleased to do this: despite certain known and major difficulties and problems created as a result of known events, difficulties attempted and still attempted to be created for us in various spheres, including the financial sphere, nevertheless - I would like to stress that - we manage to overcome [them] in general owing to professional action of our banking community, government institutions and efforts of the Central Bank," the head of state said.

Putin particularly highlighted the role of Sberbank in these operations. Clients of the bank and the market at large should understand that the institution is stable, the President noted. "This is a good signal for the economy on the whole and also for the large number of citizens that are clients of the bank," Putin added.
