MOSCOW, November 15. /TASS/. Design activities for the Soyuz-Vostok main gas pipeline via Mongolia to China will be completed in 2023, Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Viktoria Abramchenko told reporters after the meeting of the Russian-Mongolian intergovernmental commission.
"The second project I would like to highlight is the construction project of the Trans-Mongolian gas pipeline with the gas pumping capacity from the Russian Federation to China totaling 50 bln cubic meters. The feasibility study of this project has been approved; route surveys and studies were completed and relevant efforts continue. The design stage kicked off. [Design] completion will be in the next year. This is the trilateral case, so we need to ensure the approval from three states," she said.
The design stage for the Soyuz-Vostok gas pipeline started, Gazprom said in February 2022. Construction work under the project will start in 2024.
