MOSCOW, October 26. /TASS/. Three representative offices of foreign banks left Russia in October 2022 , according to the updated register of representative offices of foreign credit institutions accredited with the Bank of Russia.
Exclusion from the register was voluntary, "by application of foreign credit institutions based on decisions taken by their management authorities," the Central Bank said. Six representative offices were closed in total from the year start.
According to the Central Bank, 32 units of foreign banks are officially acting in Russia at present, while there were 65 such units in 2016.
Swiss-based Lombard Odier, Cyprus’ Hellenic Bank and Japan’s Hokkaido Bank closed their representative offices in this October.
