Putin and head of Mali note importance of delivering fertilizers to countries in need

It is noted that the phone conversation took place at the initiative of the Malian side

MOSCOW, October 4. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin and interim President of Mali Assimi Goita spoke by telephone about the importance of the initiative to transfer Russian fertilizers to the countries most in need, the Kremlin press service said on Tuesday.

"[The parties noted] the importance of implementing the Russian initiative to donate about 300,000 tons of fertilizers that were blocked in European ports due to illegitimate sanctions restrictions to the countries in need," according to the statement.

The phone conversation took place at the initiative of the Malian side.

Speaking at the SCO summit in September, Putin said that 300,000 tons of Russian fertilizers had been stocked in the seaports of the European Union and Moscow was ready to transfer them to developing countries free of charge. Later, the Russian President called the lack of response to such a proposal from the EU "utter cynicism."
