Azovstal can continue to work, but not as metallurgical facility — official

The authorities are considering various options for its future, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin noted

MOSCOW, June 22. /TASS/. The Azovstal iron and steel works can continue to operate as an industrial park or a recreation area, but not as a metallurgical complex, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin wrote on his Telegram channel.

"The important question is what to do with the Azovstal plant. We are considering various options for its future. This zone can continue to work as an industrial park or a recreation area in the future, but, of course, no longer as a metallurgical complex," Khusnullin wrote.

Earlier, Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin in an interview with TASS on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum said that the territory of the Azovstal plant in Mariupol would most likely be turned into a technopark.
