EAEU increases ruble share in settlements to 72.5% — Russian Deputy PM

It was reported earlier that mutual trade in national currencies amounted to 74% as of 2019 year-end

MOSCOW, June 23. /TASS/. Member-states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) increased the ruble share in mutual settlements to 72.5%, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk said on Wednesday when speaking in the Federation Council.

"The trend of strengthening the role of the Russian ruble is noted in the trade turnover among EAEU countries. Its specific ratio in the payment structure increased to 72.5% over the last five years," Overchuk said, adding that this refers to 2019 data.

It was reported earlier that mutual trade in national currencies amounted to 74% as of 2019 year-end. The dollar accounted for about 19% in payments, and the euro made up about 7%.
