Belarus continues to exchange information with certain NATO countries — Defense Ministry

According to the official, "the country's foreign policy activities, including in the military area, are based on strategic relations with the Russian Federation"

MINSK, February 20. /TASS/. Belarus continues contacts with some NATO member states for the purpose of information exchange, said Valery Revenko, head of the Department of International Military Cooperation at the Belarusian Defense Ministry.

He made the statement at a meeting with representatives of the foreign military and diplomatic corps accredited at the ministry.

"The Republic of Belarus is a country that is an integral part of the European geopolitical landscape. We continue to maintain contact with military diplomats of certain NATO member states in order to exchange information on operational and combat training activities both in Belarus and in Europe, clarify the views of the sides on the ongoing military and political developments," a statement from the Defense Ministry quoted Revenko as saying.

According to the official, "the country's foreign policy activities, including in the military area, are based on strategic relations with the Russian Federation, comprehensive cooperation with friendly states within integration associations where Belarus is a member, strengthening of strategic, all-weather partnership with the People's Republic of China and multifaceted interaction with other states that respect the views and interests" of Minsk.
