MOSCOW, February 14. /TASS/. The Ural Civil Aviation Plant is set to present its Forpost-RE medium-range drone at an international exhibition for the first time and will do so at the IDEX-2025 show in Abu Dhabi.
"The Ural Civil Aviation Plant will present the Forpost-RE unmanned aerial vehicle system at an international arms exhibition for the first time. The global debut of the export version of the drone, which passed the test of real combat in the Middle East, is scheduled as part of the united Russian display at the IDEX-2025 international arms exhibition in Abu Dhabi," a company spokesman said.
According to the spokesman, the system is designed to perform in a wide range of climatic conditions, such as temperatures ranging from - 40 degrees Celsius to + 50 degrees Celsius, to carry out reconnaissance and attacks over land and sea. It can be equipped with guided and unguided aerial bombs and missiles weighing up to 40 kilograms. The system features an automatic takeoff and landing system. Landing is helped by laser beams and visual sensors to keep track of the runway. The system allows landing in the absence of a connection to the global satellite navigation system.
"The practice of the special military operation has shown that this class of drones has limited strike capabilities, and they are not required too much. What is much more important is the capabilities of targeting, along with reconnaissance and patrolling of vast areas: coasts, borders and so on. The competitive advantages of Russia’s Forpost-RE drone are its absolute protection from sanctions, as all of its components are made in Russia, and many years of successful experience in real-combat areas," the spokesman said.
