Tajik, Russian special services successfully fight terrorism together — Foreign Ministry

According to Sirodjiddin Mukhriddin, Dushanbe and Moscow are actively working together within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), leading to the signing of a targeted interstate program by CSTO states in November 2024 aimed at strengthening Tajikistan's border with Afghanistan

MOSCOW, February 13. /TASS/. The special services of Tajikistan and Russia are doing good work together in the fight against international terrorism, Tajik Foreign Minister Sirodjiddin Muhriddin said after talks with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov.

"Our special services cooperate well in thwarting the activities of accomplices of international terrorist organizations," he said.

According to Mukhriddin, Dushanbe and Moscow are actively working together within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), leading to the signing of a targeted interstate program by CSTO states in November 2024 aimed at strengthening Tajikistan's border with Afghanistan.

"The SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization - TASS) agreed that Dushanbe and Moscow will take steps to strengthen the Central Asian focus of this organization, as well as to establish the SCO Anti-Drug Center in Dushanbe and transform the RATS (Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure - TASS). The SCO has become a universal center," Muhriddin added.

Russian Ambassador to Tajikistan Semyon Grigoriyev earlier said in an interview with TASS that the republic's law enforcement agencies were actively involved in investigating the circumstances of the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall concert venue near Moscow last March, and cooperation with Russia on this issue continues.
