MOSCOW, November 7. /TASS/. The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) notes the great conflict risks in a number of regions adjacent to the organization's area of responsibility and is concerned about the situation in Eastern Europe, as well as sees tangible risks of destabilization in the South Caucasus, the Secretary-General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Imangali Tasmagambetov said at a meeting of secretaries the CIS countries’ security councils in Moscow.
"The military and political situation along the perimeter of the CSTO's zone of responsibility remains complicated. In a number of regions directly adjacent to the CSTO zone of responsibility, the conflict potential remains at a high level. The situation in Eastern Europe and the Middle East is of serious concern. The internal political processes in Afghanistan remain complicated, and tangible risks linger in the South Caucasus," Tasmagambetov said.
He thanked Russian Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu for the invitation to the meeting. "The relevance of such a discussion platform is very difficult to overestimate," he added.
