MOSCOW, May 4. /TASS/. Russian special services have evidence that Kiev was behind the drone attack on the Kremlin, but in fact the decisions on such operations are made in Washington, Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the media on Thursday.
"This is the data that we have, the data that our special services have obtained," the Kremlin spokesman said when asked about the reasons to believe that Ukrainian special services had been behind the attack.
He pointed out that decisions concerning Ukrainian attacks on Russian territory "are made not in Kiev, but in Washington."
Often "even the targets" are determined in the United States, and "not every time Kiev has the right to choose the means."
"You understand that only a tiny fraction of such data is disclosed. But it is very important to ensure that Washington understand that we know this and be aware how dangerous such direct involvement in the conflict is," Peskov said.
On May 3, Ukraine attempted to use two drones for a night-time strike on the Kremlin residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the presidential press service said. The military and special services promptly disabled the enemy vehicles. Putin was not harmed and continued to work as usual. The Kremlin said the attack was a pre-planned act of terrorism and an attempt on the life of the head of state. Moscow reserves the right to retaliate in a suitable way and when it deems appropriate.
