MINSK, April 10. /TASS/. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu discussed the issues of the Russia-Belarus joint regional battlegroup’s combat training and interoperability at a meeting in Minsk on Monday.
"I am grateful to you that you keep several thousand Russian personnel here, despite all the complexities. We have joined this process to the extent required. And we are training these guys together with your officers and carrying out troop interoperability," the state-run BelTA news agency quoted the Belarusian leader as saying.
It is no time to relax, Lukashenko stressed.
"We are training the personnel as required. That is why, we should not relax. You see that the Poles and the Lithuanians have begun to show activity in our direction. That is why, this is a good help and a support for the Belarusian army that protects the Union State on the western flank," the Belarusian leader said.
