Ukrainian troops must be pushed back from DPR to spare it from shelling attacks — DPR head

Acting head of the DPR said when asked about the key goal of Russia’s offensive operations in the republic

MOSCOW, January 31. /TASS/. Acting head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Denis Pushilin said on Tuesday that it is necessary to push Ukrainian troops back to a distance from which they will not be able to shell the DPR’s territory.

"There are constitutional borders of the Donetsk People’s Republic, which we joined Russia in. But we should be aware of the threat coming from the enemy perfidy. We should push the enemy away from the constitutional borders of the Donetsk People’s Republic so that they can not reach the region physically with their weapons," he said in an interview with the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio station when asked about the key goal of Russia’s offensive operations in the DPR.

Russian President Vladimir Putin reiterated earlier that the goal of the special military operation in Ukraine remains unchanged and that is to liberate the entire territory of Donbass.
