North Korea’s state media dismisses US rhetoric on Gaza as empty threats

"The US' inherent nature of thriving through violence and exploitation, coupled with its hegemonic and aggressive ambition for global domination, is not just a historical issue but is vividly evident in today's situation in Gaza," the commentary reads

SEOUL, February 12. /TASS/. The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on Wednesday accused Washington of exploitation as it condemned US President Donald Trump’s recent proposal to administer Gaza as empty threats.

In a commentary released on its website, North Korea’s official news agency referenced Trump’s statement on February 4, where he suggested that Washington is considering taking control of the Gaza Strip in the long term and relocating Palestinians elsewhere. "The entire world is shocked by the harsh and outrageous announcement that crushed the slim hopes of Palestinians for peace and stability in the region at a time when blood and tears are still being shed in Gaza," the commentary stated. According to the KCNA, even Trump’s Western allies rejected his Gaza proposal as a violation of the UN Charter.

"The US' inherent nature of thriving through violence and exploitation, coupled with its hegemonic and aggressive ambition for global domination, is not just a historical issue but is vividly evident in today's situation in Gaza," the commentary in Korean reads.

In addition to the Palestinian region, the new US administration has extended its expansionist ambitions toward Greenland and the Panama Canal, while renaming the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America, mocking international law, the commentary added. "The US should abandon its outdated dreams and immediately stop violating the dignity and sovereignty of other nations and peoples," the KCNA concluded.
