DOKHA, February 11. /TASS/. The Turkish Trade Ministry has lifted restrictions on the import of goods from Syria, Mazen Alloush, a representative of the General Directorate of Land and Sea Ports, told SANA news agency.
"Meetings and discussions between the General Directorate of Land and Sea Ports and the Turkish Ministry of Trade led to a decision to lift restrictions on exports of Syrian goods and food to the Turkish market," the statement said.
Turkey’s President Tayyip Erdogan has repeatedly said that international sanctions imposed on Syria should be removed.
At the end of last year armed opposition groups entered Damascus, after which government forces left the city. President Bashar al-Assad resigned and left the country. He was replaced by Ahmed al-Sharaa, leader of the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham group (prohibited in Russia as a terroristic group), who will rule during a transition period.
