BELGRADE, February 7. /TASS/. President of Republika Srpska, a constituent entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, supports US President Donald Trump’s decision to impose sanctions on the International Criminal Court (ICC) and will suggest that his country follow suit.
"I support the US president’s decision to impose sanctions on the International Criminal Court as a clear message that [no one] is going to tolerate attempts to infringe upon the sovereignty of countries and their citizens’ right to legitimate self-defense. I will suggest that Bosnia and Herzegovina follow Washington’s example and impose sanctions on the ICC for the same reasons, in order to put an end to unjustified pressure. It’s time to fight for law and justice without fear of anyone’s dictate," Dodik wrote on the X social network.
US President Donald Trump signed a relevant executive order on Thursday, accusing the ICC of illegitimate actions against Washington and its allies. In particular, the United States believes that the court has abused its powers, issuing baseless arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. According to earlier media reports, the executive order would allow imposing financial and visa restrictions against those prosecuting citizens of US and allied countries.
