Lukashenko says alarmed over situation on Belarus’ western borders

According to the Belarusian leader, the situation is worrying, given Poland's massive investments to strengthen its military

MINSK, December 6. /TASS/. Minsk is alarmed about growing NATO forces near its borders with Lithuania and Poland, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said.

"We are seriously concerned over the situation in Western Europe, especially on our borders, in particular, with Poland and Lithuania. We think that this is a bigger threat than the one coming from warring Ukraine. Troops from Poland and LIthuania are being deployed some 15 kilometers - just a stone’s throw - from the border, with NATO troops from other countries, including Germany, also being pulled there," he said after signing an agreement of security guarantees within the Union State of Russia and Belarus.

According to the Belarusian leader, the situation is worrying, given Poland's massive investments to strengthen its military. "We are very concerned about this as this is a threat to our joint group of forces," he added.
