MOSCOW, April 7. /TASS/. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba has said that Russian guided aerial bombs regularly destroy Ukrainian positions.
"[Ukrainian servicemen] are massively, and I would say even routinely, attacked by guided aerial bombs that wipe out our positions," he told the Financial Times newspaper.
Kuleba added that it is impossible to hide from the guided bombs, and "the only way to protect yourself from them is to shoot down the bomber that carries this bomb." He said that Kiev would not be able to receive F-16 fighter jets, which could supposedly improve the air situation, until mid-summer at the earliest.
Ukrainian authorities regularly call on the West to transfer air defense systems and missiles to Kiev, insisting in particular on Patriot surface-to-air missile systems. On April 3, Kuleba said that Western partners were not providing Kiev with even five to seven Patriot systems, despite having more than 100 units in their arsenal. On April 4, he promised to "spoil the party" in honor of NATO's 75th anniversary with questions about Patriot systems. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has since said that Ukraine wants 25 Patriot systems.
