IDF continues raids on Al-Shifa hospital, eliminating over 150 radicals — army

The press service reported that the IDF is "preventing harm to civilians, patients, medical teams, and medical equipment"

TEL AVIV, March 22. /TASS/. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) continues carrying out "precise operational activity" in the Al-Shifa hospital in the Gaza Strip, the army press service reported.

According to it, Israeli troops eliminated around 150 Palestinian radicals. Hundreds of people were detained on suspicion of involvement in terrorist activities. Weapons were found and seized. Meanwhile, the IDF is "preventing harm to civilians, patients, medical teams, and medical equipment."

Besides, a projectile was launched in the direction of the Israeli kibbutz of Be'eri near the border with the Gaza Strip. In response, Israeli Air Force fighter jets struck the tunnel entrance and a military facility in the area from which the shelling was launched, the army said.

In addition, Israeli fighter jets continue to strike the central Gaza Strip in support of ground forces. Some 40 targets in the area were attacked over the past 24 hours, including military installations and rocket launchers, the press service said.

Tensions flared up again in the Middle East on October 7, 2023, when militants from the Gaza Strip-based radical Palestinian movement Hamas staged a surprise attack on Israeli territory from Gaza, killing residents of Israeli border settlements and taking over 240 hostages, including women, children and the elderly. Hamas described its attack as a response to the aggressive actions of Israeli authorities against the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem’s Old City. In response, Israel declared a total blockade of the Gaza Strip, home to 2.3 million Palestinians before the crisis, and has been delivering air strikes on Gaza as well as some parts of Lebanon and Syria. Clashes have also been reported on the West Bank.
