Russian aerospace forces strike terrorists base in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor governorate

"As a result, terrorists sustained serious losses in manpower and vehicles," deputy chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties in Syria Vadim Kulit said

MOSCOW, March 16. /TASS/. Russia’s aerospace forces struck a terrorist base in a hard-to-reach mountainous area in the Syrian Deir ez-Zor governorate, Vadim Kulit, deputy chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties in Syria (a division of the Russian defense ministry), said on Saturday.

"On March 15, the Russian aerospace forces destroyed a place of the deployment of militants who left the al-Tans area and were hiding in hard-to-reach areas of the al-Bishri ridge. As a result, terrorists sustained serious losses in manpower and vehicles," he said.

He also said that during the day, one shelling attack on the positions of government forces was reported in the Idlid de-escalation zone from positions of the Jabhat al-Nusra (outlawed in Russia).

Apart from that, according to Kulit, three violations of the deconfliction protocols of December 9, 2019 linked with the flights by the US-led coalition unmanned aerial vehicles were reported in Syria in the past 24 hours. "A pair of A-10 Thunderbolt attack bombers violated Syria’s airspace in the al-Tanf area, across which international air routes run, two times during the day," he added.
