Xi Jinping meets with EU leadership in Beijing

BEIJING, December 7. /TASS/. Chinese Leader Xi Jinping met with European Council President Charles Michel and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, CCTV reported.

According to the report, the meeting took place in the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing. The 24th Chinese-European Summit started at about 11 a.m. local time [6 a.m. Moscow time].

The last in-person EU-China summit took place in 2019. Initially, the summit was supposed to last for two days, but the sharp disagreements within the EU on Ukraine forced the European side to cut the program - all main events will take place on December 7, after which Michel will depart for Europe. It is unclear whether von der Leyen will stay in Beijing for another day.
