Pentagon can't confirm validity of North Korean satellite images of White House

"We cannot confirm the accuracy of this claim," the Pentagon spokesman said in response to the relevant inquiry

WASHINGTON, November 28. /TASS/. The US Defense Department cannot confirm the reliability of reports that a North Korean reconnaissance satellite took pictures of the White House and the Pentagon, a spokesman told TASS.

"We cannot confirm the accuracy of this claim," the Pentagon spokesman said in response to the relevant inquiry.

Earlier, Reuters reported, citing the North Korean Central News Agency, that the country’s leader Kim Jong Un has already familiarized himself with the photos of the White House and the Pentagon taken by a North Korean reconnaissance satellite. According to the agency, the satellite also took pictures of aircraft carriers at the US naval base in Norfolk, Virginia.

On November 21, North Korea launched a reconnaissance satellite. In response, on November 22, the South Korea announced a partial suspension of the agreement with North Korea to reduce tensions. The measure affected the no-fly zone provision. On November 23, the North Korean Defense Ministry announced that it would no longer abide by the entire agreement and would resume the actions prohibited by the document.
