BEIJING, March 7. /TASS/. The Chinese authorities are pursuing a peaceful non-discriminatory modernization policy and are against settling international issues by force, Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang said on Tuesday.

"China’s modernization is aimed at improving the welfare of all people. <…> Modernization should not serve the interests of just a few countries or a particular group of people," he said, speaking at a news conference during the annual sessions of the country's main deliberative and legislative bodies held this week in Beijing, "China’s modernization, for one thing, does not rely on warfare [methods]."

As Qin Gang pointed out, modernization "should not make the rich even richer and the poor even poorer." "The people of all countries have the right to happiness and peaceful development," he added.

According to the top diplomat, it is essential that the interests of each country are taken into account in the global development process. He pointed out that in order to achieve universal prosperity, the international community must constantly make joint efforts to create a just world order.

"We hope and believe that more and more countries in the world will follow the path of modernization," Qin Gang concluded.
