CHISINAU, February 15. /TASS/. Moldova closed its airspace on Tuesday following information from Ukrainian authorities about an unidentified flying object, Moldovan Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu said in an interview with the PRO-TV channel on Wednesday.

"It was either a drone or a device performing measurements at a certain altitude. The information came from our Ukrainian counterparts, after that the National Army identified it. Our Romanian counterparts were also informed as the object was moving southwest. That is why we needed this short interval to ensure airspace security," Grosu said, noting that it was still unclear to whom the object belonged.

"It came from the north, from Ukraine. We have to be vigilant, in constant contact with Ukraine and Romania to track such situations," Grosu explained.
