Seoul says Chinese and Russian planes entered ‘air defense identification zone’ — Yonhap

It is reported that two Chinese and six Russian planes were involved in maneuvres

SEOUL, November 30. /TASS/. The South Korean servicemen claim that Russian and Chinese warplanes entered South Korea's so-called air defense identification zone without notifying Seoul, the Yonhap news agency reported on Wednesday, citing the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff.

According to Seoul, two Chinese and six Russian planes were involved in maneuvres. The airspace of the Republic of Korea was not violated.

The Russian side has previously pointed out on several occasions that the ‘air defense identification zone’ was established by Seoul unilaterally and was not legally binding to other states. The Russian embassy stressed that the country's aircraft conducted flights in accordance with international norms.
