Russia sees West’s attempts to strip Ukraine of all items of value — Foreign Ministry

The regime in Kiev has arranged for the mass export of farm produce to Europe, although the food is needed by the Ukrainian people in the first place, Maria Zakharova pointed out

MOSCOW, May 18. /TASS/. Russia sees the Western countries’ wish to take all items of value out of Ukraine, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told a news briefing on Wednesday.

"We have taken note of the Western patrons’ wish to strip Ukraine of everything that might be of some value," she said.

Zakharova recalled that hundreds of grain trucks were crossing the Ukrainian border into Europe these days. The regime in Kiev has arranged for the mass export of farm produce to Europe by trucks, by trains, by ships through the port of Izmail and by barges across the Danube to Romania in exchange for weapons supplies, she stressed.

"Just stop to think about what is happening: amid the collective West’s prophecies, which apparently the regime in Kiev should trust, about looming famine this very regime is sending food out of the country. It is getting rid of the food that obviously is needed by the Ukrainian people in the first place," she added.
