BERLIN, October 21. /TASS/. The Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) hopes to sign a coalition deal with Alliance 90/The Greens and the Free Democratic Party (FDP) by the end of November, General Secretary of the Social Democratic Party Lars Klingbeil said.

Olaf Scholz is expected to be elected German chancellor by December 12, Klingbeil told a news conference ahead of the talks.

"Twenty-two working groups have been set up, we are well-prepared. Today, coalition talks will kick off, on Wednesday (October 27) the working groups will gather and draw up documents and positions by November 10," he said.

"The coalition deal is scheduled for the end of November and the goal is that on the Saint Nicholas week (on December 6-12 - TASS) Olaf Scholz should be also elected chancellor," Klingbeil said.

In his turn, General Secretary of the liberal Free Democratic Party (FDP) Volker Wissing announced that the key disagreements between the parties at talks have been ironed out, confirming that the parties sought to conclude a coalition deal by the end of November.

"This will enable us to pick the German chancellor in the week of December 6 (until December 12)," he said.
