SIMFEROPOL, February 25. /TASS/. Musya the cat, who was tossed off a 130-foot high cliff at the Swallow’s Nest Castle near the city of Yalta in Crimea by a visitor, has been saved, rescuers told TASS.

The cat was spotted sitting on a rock halfway down to the sea. Climbers reached the animal and brought it back to the top of the cliff.

According to Yalta’s mayor, Yanina Pavlenko, who posted a video of the rescue operation on her Telegram channel, an on-site examination of the animal by a veterinarian revealed no visible trauma or injuries. The cat will be taken to a veterinary clinic for further tests.

Musya, who lives in the Swallow’s Nest Castle museum, Crimea’s hallmark site, was thrown from the castle’s viewpoint platform by a tourist from St. Petersburg on February 23. The 24-year-old man was detained later in the Crimean city of Dzhankoi on criminal charges of cruelty to animals. He was placed in a health institution for ten days.
