MOSCOW, February 14. /TASS/. Russia’s public health watchdog said gamma radiation remained within its average multiyear level on Friday.
The agency, known as Rospotrebnadzor, regularly monitors radiation levels in the regions that border Ukraine, it said in a statement.
"As of February 14, the gamma background in these constituent regions of the Russian Federation does not exceed the average multiyear level that is typical for the areas. The monitoring of the radiation situation continues," the statement said.
According to the agency, the International Atomic Energy Agency confirmed that the recent collision of a drone with the shelter around Reactor No. 4 of the former Chernobyl nuclear power plant did not cause any changes in radiation levels.
