MOSCOW, February 14. /TASS/. The level of confidence in President Vladimir Putin among the Russian public has risen by 2% over the week, reaching 80%, with the same number of respondents endorsing his job performance, according to a survey by the Public Opinion Foundation (FOM).
The poll, conducted from February 7-9, surveyed 1,500 citizens. "A total of 80% of Russians (a 2% increase from last week) expressed confidence in Vladimir Putin. Additionally, the majority of the population (80%, unchanged) endorsed his leadership as the head of state," the foundation said in a statement.
The government’s work received approval from 53% of respondents (a 1% decline). Among them, 57% (a 1% increase) praised Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin’s job performance.
Support for the ruling United Russia party remained at 44%. Support for the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) stood at 8% (unchanged), while backing for the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) declined by 1% to 8%. Support for the A Just Russia-For Truth party held steady at 3%, as did backing for the New People party at 3%.
