Putin on TIME’s shortlist for 2023 Person of the Year

Time has been choosing the Person of the Year annually since 1927

NEW YORK, December 4./TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin is one of nine candidates in the running for TIME Magazine's Person of the Year.

The winner will be announced on Wednesday, while on Monday, the magazine revealed the short list.

Among the other nominees are Chinese President Xi Jinping, King Charles III, Barbie from the movie of the same name, American singer Taylor Swift, developer of ChatGPT Sam Altman, as well as Hollywood screenwriters and actors.

Time has been choosing the Person of the Year annually since 1927. Last year, the magazine’s Person of the Year was Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and the "spirit of Ukraine. In 2021, the title went to billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk.
