Some NATO countries interested in Russian rocket engines, says Roscosmos chief

Dmitry Rogozin stressed that the corporation stands "for international cooperation in space to be preserved in full"

KHIMKI, Moscow Region, April 12. /TASS/. Some NATO countries have expressed interest in purchasing Russian engines for space vehicles, the head of the space corporation Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin, said on Friday.

"There are some other countries apart from the United States, including NATO members, that are interested in purchasing Russian rocket engines," he said.

"Let’s avoid burning bridges. We are for international cooperation in space to be preserved in full. It is the most important element of diplomacy," Rogozin said.

"It is a very good sign that in the context of sanctions and pressures Russia’s high-tech export does exist, in the field of space rocket and engine manufacturing in particular, and that we retain world leadership," he stated. "We should appreciate this, because this yields profit for the nation."

Rogozin added that the proceeds from such export were being used to carry out research and development for cutting-edge space projects.
