KURSK, March 27. /TASS/. The Ukrainian combat group was blown up on its own minefield upon its escape from the settlement of Viktorovka north of Sudzha in the Kursk Region, the acting head of the Regiment South’s Engineer Service with the call sign Pegas told TASS on Thursday.
"During the operation to remove minefields near the settlement of Viktorovka in the mine clearance area, we came across the fact that the enemy was blown up on its own minefields. It turns out that they [Ukrainian troops] were retreating very quickly and unknowingly were blown up on their own minefields," he said.
There were both wheeled and tracked vehicles with Ukrainian crews and military personnel blown up on the minefields, he specified.
The Russian commander told TASS earlier that Ukrainian troops had meticulously laid minefields at approaches to settlements in the Kursk Region. The minefields also became an obstacle for civilians to evacuate from the settlements of Malaya Loknya and Viktorovka in the Kursk Region, he added.
