Russian forces make gains in DPR, strengthen positions — official

Denis Pushilin added that Russian forces have intensified their advances in the Krasny Liman area, while the Ukrainian army continues counterattacks in the Dzerzhinsk and Krasnoarmeysk directions, where they have deployed reserves

DONETSK, March 24. /TASS/. The Russian army is making serious headway in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Denis Pushilin, the head of the region, told the Rossiya-24 TV channel.

"While the previous weeks were defined by the liberation of settlements, rural communities, villages, now we can see active advances by our units via forest belts and them gaining and improving their positions so that they can push [forward] and implement the plan formulated by the military command more smoothly," he said.

The DPR head added that Russian forces have intensified their advances in the Krasny Liman area, while the Ukrainian army continues counterattacks in the Dzerzhinsk and Krasnoarmeysk directions, where they have deployed reserves. "We are also receiving encouraging updates from the city of Chasov Yar itself, where fighting is ongoing," he stated.
