Ukrainian troops forbade people in Kursk Region to evacuate to use them as human shield

The Ukrainian militants had previously acted in a similar way against civilians in the city of Mariupol and other settlements

MOSCOW, March 21. /TASS/. The Ukrainian military stopped civilians from evacuating after invading the Kursk Region to exploit them as human shields, the press service of Russia's Investigative Committee told TASS.

"During the investigation, residents of freed settlements report that Ukrainian troops prevented civilians from evacuating in order to use them as human shield," the press service said following an operational meeting held by Investigative Committee Head Alexander Bastrykin in Kursk.

The Ukrainian militants had previously acted in a similar way against civilians in the city of Mariupol and other settlements. "All these facts are recorded in criminal cases," Russia's Investigative Committee pointed out.
