KUALA LUMPUR, February 27. /TASS/. Russian Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu discussed the prospects for strengthening political, military, trade, economic, energy, and humanitarian cooperation, as well as expanding collaboration in space and nuclear energy, during talks with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, a TASS correspondent reports.
"Our delegation includes representatives from various ministries and agencies. We will be discussing space and nuclear energy," Shoigu stated in his welcoming remarks.
The Russian Security Council press service clarified that the meeting also covered the prospects for enhancing political, military, trade, economic, energy, and humanitarian cooperation.
Shoigu also read out a message from President Vladimir Putin, in which the Russian leader conveyed his warm greetings and emphasized that Russian-Malaysian relations have traditionally been friendly.
"The consolidation of our efforts will contribute to the development of our relations," Shoigu outlined from Putin's message.
Earlier, it was reported that Shoigu had arrived in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, for a working visit. During his trip, he held several discussions with the country's top officials on a range of important issues. Notably, he has already met with Nushirwan bin Zainal Abidin, the Director General of the National Security Council under the Prime Minister's Office.
