Western 'bombs' of interference falling in South Caucasus — Russian MFA

"All countries in the Caucasus and neighboring states must be extremely vigilant and cautious," Mikhail Galuzin said

MOSCOW, November 29. /TASS/. The countries of the South Caucasus need to stay on their toes and work together to dodge the "bombs" of Western interference falling all around them, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin told reporters.

"In the South Caucasus, we have witnessed how the Georgian leadership and society faced brutal, offensive attacks and severe pressure from the collective West simply for defending what they [the West] view as 'traditional values'," he said. "Georgia pursued a pragmatic policy aligned with its national interests, something that hits close to home for Armenia. These ‘bombs’ of Western interference are falling everywhere," he added.

"All countries in the Caucasus and neighboring states must be extremely vigilant and cautious. We need to work together to ensure that the problems of the Caucasus are resolved by the Caucasians themselves," the deputy minister said.

He emphasized that this is why Russia "places great importance on developing the 3+3 consultative-regional platform for the South Caucasus."
