Russia ready to expand parliamentary interaction with Republika Srpska — top senator

"We are very close in a spiritual and cultural sense," Valentina Matviyenko noted

MOSCOW, November 7. /TASS/. Russia is ready to expand parliamentary cooperation with Republika Srpska, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko said at a meeting with Chairman of the National Assembly (Parliament) of the Republika Srpska (Entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina) Nenad Stevandic.

"We are ready and interested in expanding our interaction and cooperation, providing legislative and regulatory support for agreements reached at the highest level along the parliamentary line," Matviyenko said.

The speaker noted that Russia values the friendship between the two nations. "We are very close in a spiritual and cultural sense. We are like siblings," she emphasized.

"Despite the destructive policies pursued by the West, including the pressure on Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republika Srpska remains committed to expanding and developing mutually beneficial relations with Russia," Matviyenko added. She noted that Russia appreciates the "principled, unwavering stance" of the Republika Srpska authorities.
