CARACAS, November 7. /TASS/. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko has arrived in Caracas to participate in a meeting of the high-level Russian-Venezuelan intergovernmental commission, a TASS correspondent reported.
The deputy prime minister's plane landed at the Caracas airport.
During the meeting of the intergovernmental commission, a number of bilateral documents are expected to be signed, including a plan for the development of key areas of Russian-Venezuelan cooperation until 2030, an agreement on cooperation in the field of science and technology, a roadmap for cooperation between the countries in the field of geology and the use of hydrocarbon subsoil until 2026, a memorandum on the launch of a project to create in Venezuela an assembly production of special automotive equipment and buses on the Kamaz chassis.
Chernyshenko will also take part in the ceremony marking the beginning of the final stage of work prior to the start of large-scale production of insulin medication within the framework of the Geropharm Russian technology transfer project, and will visit the Center for Open Education in Russian and Russian language teaching.
From 2021 to 2023, Russia and Venezuela signed more than 70 bilateral documents; in September, Chernyshenko pointed out that "Russia-Venezuela cooperation is on the rise."
