MOSCOW, March 31. /TASS/. Vladimir Zelensky has proposed a ceasefire for Easter to allow the rotation of Ukrainian units on the front lines, Military-Political Analysis Bureau head Alexander Mikhailov told TASS.
"As experience has shown, such initiatives from the Ukrainian side are primarily aimed at addressing their own local military and logistical needs. Taking advantage of Russia’s restraint from opening fire, they begin evacuating the wounded, transferring ammunition, delivering fuel and other supplies, moving military-technical cargo, and rotating personnel on the front lines," he said.
Mikhailov noted that Zelensky’s statements about a ceasefire represent another move within the narrative portraying Russia as an aggressor that rejects a truce. "It is a very convenient way to boost his ratings," he explained.
"Almost every time Russia has agreed to local ceasefires of this kind, the Ukrainian side has violated them," the expert added.
Earlier, Zelensky said that Ukraine is ready to declare a ceasefire for Easter this year.
