Kiev regime’s attempts at sabotage in Crimea rise — regional head

Sergey Aksyonov described the operations of Russia’s security services on the peninsula as very effective

SIMFEROPOL, March 4. /TASS/. Attempts to carry out acts of sabotage and provocation in Crimea by Ukraine’s intelligence services have become more frequent since the onset of the special military operation, Head of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov said in an interview with TASS.

The regional head stressed that Crimea has been under threat since 2014.

"Even before February 2022, Ukraine was attempting to carry out terror attacks, acts of sabotage and provocation in Crimea. Following the beginning of the special military operation, these attempts have become more numerous, vicious and devious," he added.

That said, Aksyonov described the operations of Russia’s security services on the peninsula as very effective. "Media outlets regularly report of thwarting the activity of enemy agents, terrorists and extremists. And only some information ends up in the public view," he noted. "I think that our security structures are taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of Crimean residents," the official added.

The regional head noted that "there is nothing in the cards" for Ukraine in Crimea. "I can say that we are absolutely aware of all of the enemy’s moves, who they are and what they are plotting here," he stressed. "As I’ve mentioned already, all those terrorists who committed acts of sabotage on Crimean soil have been detained without exception and this work is continuing," Aksyonov concluded.
