Lavrov lays down Russia's red flags for talks with West

"If the proposals they put forward once again put us in a position where we will depend in some way on their whims and policy changes, which aren’t rare, then we don’t need such consultations," the Russian top diplomat stressed

RIO DE JANEIRO, February 22. /TASS/. Moscow will not listen to any Western proposals that try to dictate terms to Russia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told reporters following a G20 ministerial meeting.

"If and when they (Western countries - TASS) come to their senses and see things objectively, what their options are and what is going on in the world, and if they somehow take note of the need to talk with Russia, then be my guest; but first, we will listen to what they propose," the top diplomat pointed out.

"If the proposals they put forward once again put us in a position where we will depend in some way on their whims and policy changes, which aren’t rare, then we don’t need such consultations," Lavrov added.
