Russia does not care who is at the helm in US — Medvedev

The Russian Security Council deputy chairman noted that in any case, Moscow and Washington now take directly opposite positions

MOSCOW, February 22. /TASS/. Russia does not care who is at the helm in the United States at any given moment and with which American leader it should establish relations, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said in an interview with Russian media, including TASS.

"By and large, we are absolutely indifferent to who is at the helm of power in the United States," he said. "To give a detailed answer, we absolutely don’t care with whom we should cooperate," the politician added, noting that in any case, Moscow and Washington now take directly opposite positions.

Medvedev explained that, of course, different candidates have "personal characteristics." "Although, when I look at the current [US] president and the previous one, I constantly have the feeling that I am observing cartoon characters, heroes in a way, who themselves are walking memes and the occasion for endless jokes and everything that the Internet and social networks are full of," he opined.
