Russian, Egyptian diplomats discuss Israel-Hamas conflict

MOSCOW, January 9. /TASS/. Russian Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Egyptian Ambassador to Moscow Nazih Nagari met to discuss the Middle East, emphasizing the ongoing armed conflict between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

"The meeting focused on current Middle East issues with a focus on the ongoing armed conflict between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement following the meeting.

The sides also considered a number of specific steps to further strengthen the historically friendly relations between Russia and Egypt, including the schedule of upcoming bilateral events.
