Russia’s borderline Belgorod Region records 44 Ukrainian strikes in 24 hours

In the Shebekinsky Municipal District, there are two casualties, and the men with mine blast injuries were taken to Belgorod’s City Hospital

BELGOROD, December 26. /TASS/. Ukrainian troops have shelled residential areas of Russia’s borderline Belgorod Region with 44 rounds of munitions and carried out several drone attacks, regional Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on his Telegram channel.

"In the Shebekinsky Municipal District, the outskirts of the Maryino farmstead were shelled with a mortar with five incoming strikes recorded. There are two casualties. The men with mine blast injuries were taken to Belgorod’s City Hospital No. 2 where doctors are providing them with all necessary aid. Their condition has been rated as moderate," he wrote.

On Monday, two mortar shells were fired at the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka and three each at the village of Belyanka and the Shebekino border checkpoint. A kamikaze drone crashed in the village of Sereda. "In Sereda, a drone also dropped a round of fragmentation munitions. No casualties or destruction were recorded in these populated areas," the governor said.

In the Belgorodsky District, Ukrainian troops fired 22 artillery shells at the village of Zhuravlyovka and seven artillery shells - at the Nekhoteyevka border checkpoint. In the Borisovsky District, on the outskirts of the Lozovaya Rudka farmstead, two kamikaze drones attacked an excavator without any dire consequences.

In the Volokonovsky District, one mortar shell was fired at the outskirts of the Stary farmstead. In the Krasnoyaruzhsky District, the outskirts of the village of Nadezhevka were shelled with one incoming strike recorded. "There are no casualties or destruction," Gladkov added.
