Lavrov to continue trip around region after visit to Morocco — MFA

The Russian foreign minister addressed the plenary session of the Russian-Arab Cooperation Forum earlier on Wednesday

MOSCOW, December 20. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will continue his trip around the region after Morocco, where he is currently on a working visit, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a briefing.

"Today he is in Morocco, participating in the sixth session of the Russian-Arab Cooperation Forum," the diplomat said. "This is not the only activity on Sergey Viktorovich Lavrov's schedule. He will continue his tour around the region."

The Russian foreign minister addressed the plenary session of the Russian-Arab Cooperation Forum earlier on Wednesday. He warned of the intentions of some external players to use the next escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict to fuel "the fire of regional enmity" in the Middle East. Lavrov added that the aim of such behavior is to "weaken countries that pursue an independent foreign policy course."
