MOSCOW, December 15. /TASS/. The United States’ latest signals concerning the nuclear arms control dialogue are hackneyed and Russia is not interested in playing these old games, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said.

In an interview with the International Affairs magazine, the senior Russian diplomat recalled that recently, the United States has resurrected the topic of nuclear weapons control and "signaled that it seems to be time to return to this matter."

"As for us, we told them long ago, before this request, that we will not be ready to resume these discussions outside the general context of bilateral relations, which are literally ‘in tatters’ due to the American side’s extremely irresponsible policy. The more so as there is nothing new in the US approach to these topics. This is just their latest attempt to play games. We are not ready for such games," he stressed.

Ryabkov said earlier that no talks between Moscow and Washington, including on nuclear weapons control, were planned until the end of the year.
