Putin invites sultan of Oman to visit Russia in 2024

"We will be happy to welcome him in Moscow at a time convenient for him next year. This year is almost over," the Russian president said

MOSCOW, December 7. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has invited Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq Al Said to visit Russia in 2024.

The Russian leader held a meeting with Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Oman’s crown prince and minister of culture, youth and sports, and asked him to convey his best regards to his father, the sultan. "He is one of the pioneers of our relations," Putin noted.

"We will be happy to welcome him in Moscow at a time convenient for him next year. This year is almost over," the Russian president said.

"I am grateful for the invitation for my father and I am confident that his visit will take place, hopefully, in the near future," the crown prince noted. Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said expects that the visit "will open new opportunities for the development of our relations."

Oman’s crown prince passed along to Putin the best regards of his father, "who highly appreciates relations with the Russian president." Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said also pointed out that bilateral ties between Oman and Russia dated back to 1985, adding that "they have been gradually developing ever since."
