MOSCOW, April 4. /TASS/. The Supreme State Council of the Union State will hold a meeting in Moscow on Thursday, and it will be attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, the Kremlin said in a statement.
"Consideration will be given to the progress of the implementation of the key document, The Main Areas of the Implementation of the Provisions of the Agreement on the Establishment of the Union State for 2021-2023, which stipulates joint work on 28 sectoral union programs. It’s planned to make decisions on a whole range of practical issues of further integration cooperation," the statement said.
Ahead of the meeting, Putin and Lukashenko on April 5 are set to discuss pressing bilateral and international issues at separate talks, the Kremlin said.
The Council of Ministers of the Union State held a meeting in Moscow on March 27 under the co-chairmanship of Russian and Belarusian prime ministers, Mikhail Mishustin and Roman Golovchenko, respectively. The decisions and agreements that were reached at the meeting will help further integration within the Union State and will serve as a solid basis for preparing the Supreme State Council, which will be attended by the countries’ presidents.
